NOMAD CLASSROOMS, URI
NOMAD =
New Order Multi-modal Advanced Design
Lamborghini/ Feibelman Ltd. designed
renovations to seven classrooms and
integrated instructional technology into two existing buildings.
The classrooms are targeted to the training of future educators.
The project cost was $1,290,000. L/ F Ltd. also coordinated the
furniture package with Correctional Industries. The project required
the addition of air conditioning for the Quinn Hall rooms.
To support the technology, each
classroom offers flexible furniture
configurations, acoustical
improvements, new finishes and
indirect lighting. "Teaching walls"
surround the room with whiteboards.
The A/V system of projectors, flat
panels, speakers, wired lecterns and
projection screens give students and
faculty the tools for collaboration.
